About AI Governance Stack
AI Governance Stack is an independent directory of the tools organisations use to govern artificial intelligence. It currently tracks 84 platforms across governance and GRC, observability, runtime guardrails, AI security testing, and the enterprise incumbents extending existing suites into AI.
Why it exists
“AI governance platform” has become a category label attached to at least five genuinely different products. A team that needs to prove EU AI Act conformity to an auditor and a team that needs to stop prompt injection in a customer-facing chatbot are both told they need an AI governance platform, and they need almost nothing in common. Most of the comparison content available is published by vendors ranking themselves. This directory exists to make the distinctions legible before anyone signs a contract.
Who publishes it
AI Governance Stack is published by Proceptual, which builds professional training in AI governance — including 90-Days to AI Governance. We do not sell any of the software listed here and take no money from the vendors reviewed. The ads on this site are for our own training and are labelled as such.
Our view, which shapes the editorial line, is that tooling is the easier half of AI governance. A platform can hold your evidence, but it cannot decide your risk tolerance, classify your use cases, or defend a decision to a regulator. People do that. We think the market systematically undersells this, and we say so.
How we work
Every listing is compiled from public sources and carries a review date and its sources. Nobody pays for placement. Read the full methodology for how entries are compiled, what the ordering means, and how to submit a correction.
