Fairo

Fairo is an early-stage AI governance, risk, and compliance (AI GRC) platform designed to give organizations centralized visibility and control over the AI systems they build, buy, and deploy. The concept originated in 2021, before both the EU AI Act and NIST AI RMF were finalized, and the company was incorporated in 2022 under founder and CEO George Chamoun, a former statistician and data-science executive. Fairo's approach centers on treating AI governance as an operational discipline: tracking AI use cases, models, and third-party vendors from a unified risk and compliance standpoint, connecting each to relevant policies, controls, and regulatory obligations. The platform is positioned to help teams map their activities against major frameworks including the EU AI Act, NIST AI RMF, and ISO/IEC 42001, building an inventory of AI assets and supporting intake reviews, risk assessments, and compliance documentation. It aims at compliance, risk, and data-science stakeholders in organizations that need to demonstrate responsible AI practices. As a very small, largely bootstrapped company, Fairo is distinct more for its founder-led, framework-driven vision than for a large customer base or funding footprint, and publicly available detail on its product depth remains limited.
