Optro is the AI-powered governance, risk and compliance platform formerly known as AuditBoard, which rebranded in March 2026 to reflect its evolution well beyond its origins in internal audit and SOX compliance. Founded in 2014 (initially as SOXHUB), AuditBoard grew into a broad GRC suite spanning risk management, information security, third-party risk, ESG and, more recently, AI governance, and was acquired by private equity firm Hg in 2024 in a deal valued around $3 billion. Its Accelerate product line, launched in late 2025, brought natural-language workflows, continuous auditing and monitoring, document intelligence and agentic AI capabilities aimed at automating testing cycles, risk assessments, evidence gathering and reporting.
